The Total View: 2007 Retirement Plan Trends

One of the most comprehensive reports of its kind, The Total View provides insight on the changing retirement landscape based on an analysis of proprietary data of the Principal Financial Group®, one of the nation's 401(k) leaders* and total retirement solutions innovator.

Based on data for the 2006 calendar year, the 2007 report looks at retirement program trends among 3.5 million participants from approximately 38,000 full-service retirement plans with The Principal®. It covers the four most common retirement plan designs: defined contribution, defined benefit, nonqualified and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).

Moving forward, The Total View will be published every other year. However, data will still be collected on an annual basis to provided information for trending.

All information and charts not sourced are based on data from retirement plans receiving administrative services from The Principal.
