David Izat, CLU®, ChFC®, LUTCF - Senior Regional Managing Director

Dave Izat is a Senior Regional Managing Director for Principal® Financial Network. His territorial responsibilities include the Northern & Central California Regions, the Pacific Northwest Region and the Southern California Region.

With 31 years of dedicated service, Dave continues to be a recognized leader in the financial service industry. His accolades and achievements include earning the prestigious designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), and Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF). He also served the industry as National Association of Financial Advisors President (NAIFA), in both the Honolulu Chapter (2002-2003) and Silicon Valley Chapter (2008-2009).

Dave joined Principal in 2024 after spending the last 21 years working with Prudential. Throughout his career, through numerous leadership positions, Dave has consistently led his organizations to top achievements both internally within the Company and within the broader Industry as well.

Originally from Scotland, Dave grew up in San Jose before moving to Hawaii after college. Then, after living in Hawaii for 14 years, he was promoted and transferred back to Northern California in 2004. He has a B.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University with an emphasis in International Relations and a minor in Business Marketing. Dave lives in El Dorado Hills, California with his wife and daughter and is a passionate fan of the Raiders, the San Jose Sharks and San Jose Earthquakes. He enjoys going to sporting events, hiking, traveling, video games and is also an avid historian.
